2K-SOFTWARE chose and adapted the open source project management system OpenProject to gain complete control over its workflows. This solution, deeply integrated into the company's CI/CD pipeline, brought a new level of automation and transparency to the development lifecycle.

Looking for a free, on-premises tool adaptable to our processes, we chose OpenProject for its flexibility and robust support. The implementation includes complex customizations:

  • Customizable Issue Statuses: The team went beyond basic statuses to create a workflow that accurately reflects their unique development process.

  • Automatic CI/CD Triggers:

    • On Merge: A GitLab webhook automatically updates the issue status in OpenProject when a pull request is accepted.

    • On Publish: After a request is successfully published, the issue is automatically closed, and the version and release date are indicated in the comments.
